Since 1997, healthfinder® has been
recognized as a key resource for finding the best government and
nonprofit health and human services information on the Internet. It
comes from the US Department of Health and Human Services.

the public featuring MedlinePlus, current health news, online
exhibitions, about NLM and reliable health information from NLM.

Find
an EVMS Faculty Publication The Faculty
Publications Database
is a searchable catalog of citations to
articles, book chapters, and books by EVMS faculty. The database
includes citations from July 1998 to the present.
Accessing Electronic Resources
Electronic Resources can be accessed through public access
terminals on the first floor of the library. The Library subscribes to a
variety of bibliographic and full-text databases including MEDLINE,
MDConsult, StatREF, the Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO. Library
staff members offer assistance in learning to use these databases.
Borrowing Materials
To borrow materials, patrons must register with the
library. Health care professionals in the area may apply for
courtesy client privileges. Members of the general public may
subscribe with the library for $50 per calendar year.
Law firms and other businesses may subscribe at $250 per calendar year.
Photocopiers
Self-service copiers are located on the first, second, and
third floors of the library. Copiers accept coins or plastic Vendacards
(available for $2.50, $5, $10, and $20). Copies are 5 cents each. Library
staff cannot provide change.
Training Through
the Brickell Library Outreach Initiative, EVMS librarians have provided
the region’s public librarians and the public with free training on
how to access health information. In the past five years, 1,000
people have attended EVMS classes at Hampton Roads public libraries,
senior centers, and health fairs on how to find health information.

Friends of the EVMS Library
The Friends of the EVMS Library is an organization of
members of the community interested in promoting awareness of the
library’s services to the community and the resources that the library
