Parking Information

Eastern Virginia Medical School is located in the Eastern Virginia Medical Center near downtown Norfolk; the Center is bounded by Colley Avenue, Brambleton Avenue, Hampton Boulevard, and Redgate Avenue (see the Campus Map).

EVMS buildings in the medical center are the Jones Institute, Lewis Hall, Hofheimer Hall, and Fairfax Hall. The medical center also includes Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.

From Norfolk International Airport:

Exit the airport onto Norview Avenue. Take Norview to I-64 East. Take I-64 to I-264 West to Norfolk. Exit I-264 (left) at Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left onto Brambleton and stay in the right lane. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

Going West on I-264 to Norfolk, you will see a sign for Eastern Virginia Medical School at the exit for Brambleton Avenue. This route tends to be congested. If you take this exit, follow Brambleton to Colley Avenue. Turn right. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road. Turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

SOUTHERN ROUTES

From Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, Durham and Chapel Hill, and other cities south of Norfolk feeding into the I-85 corridor:

Take I-85 North to South Hill, Virginia. Exit onto U.S. 58 East to Norfolk. In Suffolk, 58 merges with I-264. When 58 splits off, stay on I-264, following directions to Portsmouth, Downtown Norfolk, and the Downtown Tunnel. Go through the Downtown Tunnel and over the Berkley Bridge, staying in the left lane. As you come off the bridge, exit onto Waterside Drive. Take Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

From Miami, Savannah, Raleigh, and other cities south of Norfolk feeding into the I-95 corridor:

To get to I-95 from Raleigh, take U.S. 64 West to Rocky Mount and exit onto I-95 North. Follow I-95 to Emporia, Virginia. Exit on U.S. 58 East to Norfolk. In Suffolk, 58 merges with I-264. When 58 splits off, stay on I-264, following directions to Portsmouth, Downtown Norfolk, and the Downtown Tunnel. Go through the Downtown Tunnel and over the Berkley Bridge, staying in the left lane. As you come off the bridge, exit onto Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. From the coastal areas of North Carolina:

From the Outer Banks, take 168 North, which becomes Battlefield Boulevard, to the I-64 exit for Norfolk and Suffolk. Follow 64 to I-464 North to Norfolk. I-464 merges with I-264. Stay in the lane to Downtown Norfolk and the Berkley Bridge, not the one to the Downtown Tunnel. As you come off the bridge, exit onto Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

From Elizabeth City, NC, take U.S. 17 North to North 104, which is Dominion Boulevard in Chesapeake. North 104 merges with I-464 North. Follow I-464 over the Berkley Bridge. Exit onto Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

NORTHERN ROUTES

From Richmond, Williamsburg, the Peninsula, and cities north of Richmond feeding into the I-95 corridor:

Take I-95 to Bypass I-295 at Richmond. Exit I-295 onto I-64 East to Williamsburg, Hampton, and Norfolk. Follow I-64 to I-664 south, toward the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel. Take I-664 to VA-164 East via Exit 9 toward Portsmouth. Follow VA-164 through the Midtown Tunnel; after exiting the tunnel, stay straight and merge onto Hampton Blvd. At the first light, turn right onto Redgate Avenue. Go to the next light, Colley Avenue, and turn right. Continue to the second light at Olney Road and turn right into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

If there is a problem at the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel, you can continue on I-64 through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and onto I-264. Take I-264 West to Norfolk. Exit I-264 left onto Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left in to the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

On I-64, past the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, you will see a sign for Eastern Virginia Medical School directing you to take Exit 276. This route tends to be congested. If you take it, stay in the right lane as you exit, following signs to the Naval Base and Terminal Boulevard. Take the exit for Terminal Boulevard. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Hampton Boulevard. Stay on Hampton Boulevard for about four miles, moving into the left lane when you see the signs for downtown Norfolk. At the sign for Medical Center, turn left onto Redgate Avenue. Go one block to Colley Avenue. Turn right. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn right into Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

From the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland:

Take U.S. 13 across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Follow U.S. 13, which becomes Northampton Boulevard, to I-64. Take I-64 to Chesapeake and Suffolk. Follow I-64 to I-264. Take I-264 West to Norfolk. Exit I-264 left onto Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive, which becomes Boush Street, to Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Brambleton. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Colley Avenue. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road and turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.

Going West on I-264 to Norfolk, you will see a sign for Eastern Virginia Medical School at the exit for Brambleton Avenue. This route tends to be congested. If you take this exit, follow Brambleton to Colley Avenue. Turn right. Go to the second traffic light at Olney Road. Turn left into the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. The central parking garage will be on your left.
